Luke is a senior at Harvard College studying Applied Mathematics with a focus in Computer Science. He enlisted in the Army in the fall of 2012 and served as a logistician until the summer of 2016 before matriculating at Harvard. Luke has one combat deployment to Afghanistan and spent the majority of his service stationed in Ft. Benning, GA, serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Regimental Special Troops Battalion (RSTB). Luke is engaged in building the veteran community at Harvard and is the president and co-founder of the Harvard Undergraduate Veterans Organization (HUVO). They have found leadership and a tremendous support network in HVO and HVAO and will continue to work to promote veteran affairs for undergraduates for the rest of their time in school. Beyond Harvard, Luke is interested in clean energy, new technology, and understanding the business applications of his academic coursework.
Thomas Bassett is a junior at Harvard College studying Economics. He served as a mortar squad leader in 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment of the U.S. Army for four years before coming to Harvard in 2017. He is involved in the Leadership Institute at Harvard where he can impart knowledge about leadership and teamwork onto future generations. He enjoys hiking and snowboarding in the north east and plans to work in finance after graduation.
Chris is a junior concentrating in Technology, Information, and Society. He is originally from Cape Cod, MA, and has spent the last eight years in the US Army as a combat medic with deployments to Afghanistan and Africa in the 101st Airborne and Civil Affairs units. Chris participates in the Harvard Undergraduate Veterans Organization and Harvard Leadership Institute. When he graduates, Chris hopes to run a nonprofit for veterans. In his free time Chris enjoys rock climbing, mountaineering, and skiing.
Richard is a junior concentrating in Social Studies because it was the only major that wouldn’t flunk him for his outrageous ideas. He is from Fresno, CA but somehow harbors a deep-seeded hatred for Fresno State. He served for three and a half years in the Army as an Airborne Infantryman, with one deployment to Iraq in 2015. He hopes to pursue a music career after graduation, and is passionate about being a positive role model in community.
